mostly deals with Minimum Wages Act, A.P. Shops and Establishments
Act, Payment
of Wages Act, Payment of Gratuity Act, Child labour Act, Motor
Transport Workers Act, Industrial Disputes Act and Workmen’s
Compensation Act etc.
Registration & Renewals
Shops and establishments, Motor Transport Undertakings and
Contract Labour Establishments are registered under A.P. Shops
and Establishments Act, Motor Transport Workers Act and Contract
Labour Act respectively and the same are renewed every year.
Inspections
Inspections are taken up under various provisions of above
Acts and action initiated against the erring employees.
Claims & Prosecutions
The Asst. Labour Officer and Labour Officer files claim petitions
and prosecutions before the Asst. Commissioner of Labour.
Authorities
The Asst. Commissioner is the only Conciliation Officer in
the District. He is also the Quasi Judicial Authority at District
level, while the Labour Officers are the quasi judicial authority
at division level.

Welfare Board
For the Welfare of the workers the Board introduced various
schemes in the shape of scholarships, funeral expenses, accident
benefits and medical aid.
Special
drive of child labour
Not only working children, but also the non going school children,
beggars, street boys are identified and admitted in Residential
Bridge courses and the employers are being punished.v>
