| Livestock production is an integral part
of farming system. Diary, Poultry, Sheep, Goat
rearing and Piggery are providing gainful employment
to small and marginal farmers, agricultural labourers,
unemployed rural youth and self help group members,
protein rich milk, meat and eggs produced from
livestock, supplements the diet of rural people.
The Animal Husbandry Department is providing the
following services to the public to help increase
the production from livestock sector. |

ADMINISTRATION :- The
Joint Director (AH) is the head of the District
Administration assisted by (5) Divisional Assistant
Directors (AH) in the district. There are (2) Deputy
Director (AH) posts i.e., One at Veterinary Polyclinic,
Khammam and other is Special Livestock Breeding
Programme attached to Joint Director (AH), Khammam.
