Functions of the committee: to review the
scheme of the women and child and allied matters
SOCIAL WELFARE
Functions: 1. Promotion of educational, economic,
social, cultural and other interests of the SC/ST and BC. 2. Protecting
them from social injustice and all other forms of exploitation.
3. Amelioration of the SC and ST women and other weaker sections
of the society. 4. Securing social justice to the SC and ST women
and other weaker sections.
WORKS
Functions: The works committee shall perform
functions relating to establishment matters and functions relating
to road communication, rural water supply, power and irrigation.

BUDGET
The Zilla Parishad, Khammam prepars budget
based on the annual accounts of the preceding year. The funds
received can be classifed as

| General Funds |
|
The General funds comprises of stamp duty/local cess/percapita
grant released from State government and admission fee. General
Funds would be further re-distributed as follows

State Funds
The Grant-in-aids like Rural Road Maintenance(RRM),
Minimum Needa Programme(MNP), State Finance Commission(SFC), and
Minor Irrigation (NABARD), Neeru Meeru which would be released
to the engineering divisions. However administrative sanctions
are accorded by the ZP for maintenance of roads, drinking water
facilities, construction of school buildings and providing civil
amenities.
Centrally Sponsored Schemes
Central sponsored schemes are SGRY-I(EAS),
SGRY-II(JGSY) with the matching grants of 25% state share. It
is released to respective Gram Panchayats based on the population
of SC/ST/General population from SGRY-II grants. Similarly proportionate
grant would be released to Mandal Parishads from SGRY-I in the
ratio of 60%. The remaining 40% utilized by Zilla Parishad.
