RENEWABLE ENERGY PROGRAMMS
The
programme aims at utilizing naturally available and renewable
energy to cater day to day fuel need for the purpose of cooking
and other domestic purposes. The programme is implemented in the
district since 1983-84.
|
| |
| OBJECTIVES AND AIMS |
- Saving of conventional fuel.
- Protecting environment and forest.
- Utilizing local available resources to
provide effective alternative fuel to the rural people.
- Popularizing the Non-conventional energy
sources.
- Upkeep of rural sanitation.
|
|
FACILITIES AVAILABLE |
| |
- Family size Biogas plants.
- Smoke less chulhas.
- Solar water heater.
- Solar cooker
- Solar lanterns.
- Solar pumps.
|
| Financial assistance and technical assistance
are made available to eligible beneficiaries as per the
policy of government subjected to change from time to
time. |
|
| |
| BIOGAS |
|
The National Project on Biogas Development Programme is a part
of 20 points programme of the Government. The main objectives
of the project are
|
-
To provide fuel for cooking
purpose and organic manure to rural house holds and
farmers through family type biogas plants.
-
To mitigate drudgery of rural women, reduce
pressure on forests and accentuate social benefits.
-
To improve sanitation in village by linking
sanitary toilets with biogas plants.
-
1 cum biogas plant is sufficient to met
cooking energy needs of a family consisting of 6 to
8 members. The plant is to be fed with a dung of 30
Kgs. And 30 Lts., of water per day. 1 cum plant will
save a fire wood of 1250 Kgs., per annum, which is yield
of 15 year old tree. The unit cost of 1 cum biogas plant
of Deenabandu Model Rs.5364/- and Govt. of India extending
subsidy of Rs.2300/- to SC/ST/SF/MF/LL category beneficiaries.
|
| |
Priorities |
| |
- Minimum of 10% plants to SC/ST families
and a maximum of 5% of plants to tribal families of
the total plants targeted in the district.
- Hilly regions places where there is a problem
for fuel, places where there is threat on forest degradation.

| CHULHAS
The programme is implemented under
19 D of 20 point programme. The subject is transferred to state
for implementation. Under this programme, both fixed, and protable
model chulhas are being implemented. The state is to announce
the subsidy pattern and models.
SOLAR
ENERGY
The
Sun radiates 180 billion MW of energy over the earth. Just one
hour of this energy could meet the power needs of the entire planet
for a year. This energy is clean, pollution free and inexhaustible
and is available free and in abundance.
NEDCAP, the State Nodal Agency in Andhra Pradesh,
for implementing all renewable energy programmes sponsored by
Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Sources (MNES), New Delhi,
Government of India and of State Government of Andhra Pradesh,
is implementing solar energy programmes of both Thermal and photovoltatic
technologies available for various applications. |
