ACTION TAKEN FOR INCREASE IN WATER LEVELS
It is necessary to carryout micro level studies in these sub-basins, which are categorized as “Over exploited and Critical”. Estimation of the resources is made at sufficiently small units with input and output information at village level. The villages with higher ground water draft than the net availability are identified and demarcated as over exploited micro-basin. The areas require detailed studies to verify the input data, assessment results in relation to the actual field conditions and to suggest appropriate resource augmentation and management measures for sustainability. Accordingly it is proposed to take up detailed micro level studies in all the over exploited basins in the first instance and subsequently the critical basins will also covered by detailed micro level studies.
