| ORIGIN
The APSIDC, Division was formed during the year 1976
in Khammam district. The main objective of the Corporation
is to create irrigation potential through Lift Irrigation
Schemes, Bore wells and Infiltration Wells etc., for
the benefit of Weaker Sections, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes, Small and Marginal Farmers in uplands and drought
prone areas of Khammam district to raise their social
economic status.
ACHIEVEMENTS SINCE INCPETION
Since 1976 to 1995 this division has constructed and
commissioned 128 Lift Irrigation Schemes in various
Mandals of Khammam district and created irrigation potential
of 20,793 acres with a cost of Rs.5.88 Crores.
From 1995-96 to 2002-03 this division has constructed
and commissioned 183 L.I.Schemes and created irrigation
potential of 31,234 acres with a cost of Rs.32.70 Crores.
ONGOING SCHEMES:
Target for the present financial year is to construct
and commission 14 L.I.Schemes with an outlay of Rs.
9.35 Crores and to create irrigation potential of 6025
acres. The main funding agencies are NABARD, AIBP-NSP,
ITDA, DRDA, MPLAD etc.,
Out of budget allotment of 14 Lift Irrigation Schemes
as on date (upto 01/2004) 12 L.I.Schemes are commissioned
and so far created irrigation potential for an extent
of 3886 acres.
In addition to the above this division has taken up
12 bore wells for an extent of 63 acres of SC and ST
farmers and drilling works are completed. Ten bore wells
are programmed for commission by 04/2004 and two bore
wells are already commissioned. |
