Schemes:
Mainstreaming the out of school children:
-
Residential bridge courses have been started to main stream the
out of school children
age group of (5-15) years.
- Total 21 RBCs are functioning out
of which 16 are for boys and 5 for girls.
- The mainstreaming process is under
the supervision of DPEP with the assistance Mandal
Educational Officers.
- 134 NRBCs are also functioning in
the District under the supervision of local Head Masters
to mainstream the out of school children.
- The eradication of child labour
is under process.
- Teachers have actively participated
in the awareness generating programmes and the
Police department has extended good cooperation in the process of
eradication of child labour.
Mid-day Meal scheme:
- Mid day meal scheme is launched in the district
on 2-1-03 to improve the enrollment and retention in the schools
- Before implementation of the scheme the attendance
is at 81%
- After the implementation of the mid-day meal
the attendance has been improved to optimum.
- 2861 implementing agencies including DWACRA groups
and voluntary organizations have come forward to work for the
implementation of the scheme
- 2.5 Lakhs children are enjoying the mid-day meal
scheme
- Community responded positively and started donating
plates, glasses and untensil to schools. 1,25,000 glasses and
plates worth Rs.25.00 lakhs have been donated by public.
- 889 kichen sheds were constructed in the schools.
- Drinking water facility is provided to schools
where Mid-Day Meal scheme is implemented.
- Children have been provided with good balanced
diet as per the norms and is strictly implemented.
- Every Tuesday, egg is given to the children.
The children, who do not prefer egg are provided with banana.
- The mid day meal contains calories of food value
and 8-12 grams of proteins.
- Rice is supplied by the Revenue Department and
the supplements through Gruhamitra counters
- With the implementation of the Mid-day Meal scheme,
enrollment has increased from 2.31 lakhs to 2.5 lakhs.
Quality Education:
- X class pass percentage during the year 2002-03
is 74.92% higher to previous years.
- 100% pass target for X class is fixed for the
year 2002-04.
- 35886 children are appearing SCC public examinations
in March-April, 2004.
- Remedial classes are being taken for X class
and 7th class children in the morning and evening.
- Residential accommodation is provided to the
rural children wherever it is required to improve results and
night classes are in implementation.
- Study material for X class was prepared and provided
to all schools.
- To ebb-out the phobia of the Public Examinations,
two model test question papers are prepared and examinations
conducted.
- 93% pass percentage is achieved in 7th class
common examinations during 2002-03.
- Target fixed for 7th Class for this year is 100%
- 42046 children are appearing VII class common
examinations during 2002-04.
- 7232 teachers working in PS and UP schools have
been trained in Quality Improvement Programme Phase-II in English,
IED and Environmental sciences.
