The District Gazetted Food Inspectors Office is under the control of Director,institute of prventuve Medicine,Public Health Laboratories and Food Administration,Narayanaguda,Hyderabad comes under Medical and Health Minstry.

The district unit consists of three Food Inspectors except Khammam municipality & Bhadrachalam township.

Activities

Food samples of various food articles are being drawn at random by the Food Inspectors and sent for chemical analysis to the State Food Laboratory, Hyderabad. In case of adulterated samples, necessary action will be taken against the vendors and prosecutions launched as per the provision of prevention of food adulteration act, 1954 and rules thereunder.
