The Department of Information & Public relations strives to provide authentic information on Government plans, programmes, activities and achievements in various fields of development, so as to motivate and involve the public in the developmental activities of the government.

The department makes use of different sources of media like the press, publications, films, advertisements, exhibitions, song & drama, radio, television, video and other channels of electronic media etc. The department also provides feed back to the government on the response and reactions of the people to the various programmes implemented such feed back helps to the government to make necessary changes in its policies and programmes to suit the need of the people and to fulfill their expectations.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Submission of daily positive/negative press clippings to state headquarters through internet by 6.00 a.m. and to District Collector for perusal and also adverse news items to the concerned departments for giving clarifications/rejoinders.

Press coverage of programmes of VIPS like Ministers, District Collector, Heads of Departments, and ensure adequate coverage in the media of all departmental activities, review meetings and to liaison all the government publicity programmes.

Photo coverage

To maintain press relations and keeping the press informed and take them to the spots for coverage of official meetings.

Conduct of Press Conferences with VIPs and District Collector etc.

Conducting Press Tours for coverage in print/electronic media.

Conducting field publicity programmes such as film shows, song & drama programmes, exhibitions and distribution of publicity literature etc., organizing traditional cultural activities on Janmabhoomi national and state festivals.

Song & drama programmes, organizing special programmes on family planning eradication of illiteracy, superstitions, AIDs, Neeru Meeru, Clean and Green and environmental protection.
Collecting feed back reports, success stories on the policies of Government and reaction of the public.

Publications on developmental activities.

Welfare activities of Press Correspondent/Journalists. Issue of accreditati8ons to the press correspondents with the approval of District Media Accreditation Committee and also conduct the attack and assaults committee meeting.

Maintenance of District Information Centre/Divisional Information Centres with relevant statistical data & photo exhibition encouraging people participation in large number.

Financial assistance to indigent artists and cultural associations through District Council for Cultural Affairs Committee.
