Government have taken up a massive land patta distribution scheme in order to protect and promote the interest of the poor by securing them accesses to land as well as enlarge their livelihood options under the scheme. The pattas of these lands are given in the name of women and important inputs such as land development, irrigation facilities, provision of electricity, appropriate institutional finance, agricultural extension service, etc. are provided as a package to enable the family to derive additional income on a sustainable basis.
19872 acres of land was distributed 12239 beneficiaries under the scheme. Besides 4374 house site pattas were given to the needy poor in the Mandal.
